Subscribe | UPI Odd Newsletter Subscribe EVANSTON, Ill., Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Northwestern University's library has turned down an offer of two books on Africa from Ted Kaczynski, the Unabomber, serving a life sentence in Colorado. A university spokesman says Kaczynski sent a two-page letter to the librarian at Northwestern's world-renowned Library of African Studies this month offering to donate the books on pygmies. The books by Paul Schebesta are written in German and were published in 1938 and 1941, the Chicago Tribune said. Advertisement Northwestern's library has one of the most complete collections on Africa of any institution in the United States, including the two books offered by Kaczynski. Officials say they don't know why Kaczynski chose Northwestern's library because he has no connection to the school. A native of Evergreen Park, Ill., Kaczynski pleaded guilty in 1998 to a decades-long campaign of letter-bomb attacks that killed three people and injured 23.
