ST. PAUL, Minn., Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Federal court jurors in Minnesota deliberated for only an hour before convicting the man nicknamed the SpongeBob Square Pants robber.

Clyde Scott Thompson got the moniker not because he is a cartoon character but because he carried a bag bearing SpongeBob's likeness.

Thompson faces at least 15 years in federal prison after being found guilty of robbing the TCF Bank in Minneapolis. He was also convicted of gun charges.

A sentencing date has not been set.
