Dukakis beats out Bloomberg face down

NEW YORK, Dec. 18 (UPI) -- It seems there just isn't much demand for an autographed photograph of New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

A signed photo of Bloomberg was posted for sale last week on eBay, but when bidding closed Wednesday night, only one offer had been made -- for 1 cent, the New York Daily News reports.

The 8-by-10-inch glossy shows Bloomberg in front of an American flag and is signed, "All the Best, Michael Bloomberg."

The same seller offered a signed glossy of Democrat Michael Dukakis, who lost the 1988 presidential election to George W. Bush. That was going for a princely $2.04 by day's end.

"I don't think 1 cent is indicative of the mayor's political fortunes," said Baruch College Professor Doug Muzzio. "But when Mike Dukakis is worth 200 times more than you, it's time to worry."

Elsewhere on the site, 8-by-10-inch pictures of former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani were commanding a whopping $2.99.
