CAGE FILES FOR DIVORCE

Just three months after marrying Lisa Marie Presley in a romantic ceremony in Hawaii, actor Nicolas Cage has filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split, Entertainment Tonight reports.

The parting comes as a surprise since Cage and Presley were seen together as recently as this weekend at a screening of Cage's new film, "Adaptation."

Cage and Presley married on the eve of the 25th anniversary of the death of Presley's rock legend father, Elvis, but that was not the only Elvis connection here. Cage has played Elvis-obsessed characters in his films "Honeymoon in Vegas" and "Wild at Heart."

Cage's former wife, Patricia Arquette, also played a woman married to a fan so taken with the King, he thought the singer appeared to him and gave him advice, in the crime drama "True Romance."

Responding to the divorce filing, Lisa issued a statement to ET through her spokesperson saying, "I'm sad about this but we shouldn't have been married in the first place. It was a big mistake."

In turn, Cage told ET through a spokesperson, "I did not talk about the marriage and I'm not going to talk about the divorce."

OSBOURNES RETURN FOR SEASON 2

The Prince of Bleeping Darkness and his family are back for a second season of MTV's Emmy-winning reality series, "The Osbournes."

The show's sophomore outing begins tonight at 10:30 p.m. Eastern and will follow the family as they deal with Dad Ozzy's drinking, Mom Sharon's battle with colon cancer and daughter Kelly's blossoming music career. Also on hand is son Jack, suffering the rigors of belonging to one of the world's most famous families.

MINISERIES 'TAKEN' OVER SCI-FI CHANNEL

Aliens are taking over the Sci-Fi Channel.

Beginning Dec. 2, the cable TV channel will air 10 nights of unprecedented epic storytelling, "Steven Spielberg Presents Taken," a drama that weaves together the lives of three families over four generations and chronicles their crucial roles in the history of extraterrestrial encounters.

Executive produced by Spielberg, "Taken" is the largest miniseries ever made. Spanning more than 50 years of American history, the story of the Keys, Crawford and Clarke families is told through the voice of Allie (Dakota Fanning,) a 10-year-old girl whose journey is at the heart of "Taken."

From the skies of France in 1945 to the modern day accounts of alien abductions, the story is an awe-inspiring look at the lives of three ordinary families who experience the extraordinary.

The star-studded cast includes Fanning ("Cat in the Hat," "I Am Sam,) Catherine Dent (TV's "The Shield,") Joel Gretsch ("Minority Report,") Eric Close ("Without a Trace,") Steve Burton ("The Last Castle,") Julie Benz ("Buffy the Vampire Slayer," "Angel,") James McDaniel ("NYPD Blue,") and Heather Donahue ("Blair Witch Project.")

'80s COP DRAMAS GET NEW LIVES

Two popular 1980's TV cop dramas are being revived

Paramount Pictures reportedly is planning to bring to the big screen "21 Jump Street," the series that made Johnny Depp a reluctant teen idol and helped Rupert Murdoch's then-new Fox network cut its baby teeth.

Variety says the film will be written by the series' co-creators, Stephen J. Cannell and Patrick Hasburgh.

The series, which ran from 1987-1990 on Fox and one subsequent season in syndication, focuses on a group of baby-faced police officers assigned to go under cover in various high schools to fight crime.

The narcs were played by Depp, Peter DeLuise, Holly Robinson Peete, Dustin Nguyen and Richard Grieco.

Meanwhile, the LA cop drama "Hunter" may also make a comeback, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The trade paper quotes sources who say NBC has ordered eight new episodes of the cop drama starring Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer that originally aired on the network from 1984-91.

The move comes on the heels of strong ratings for "Hunter: Return to Justice," a TV movie that aired earlier this month. NBC also has another "Hunter" made-for-TV movie planned for February. A network spokeswoman declined comment.
