July 17 (UPI) -- Sora, Donald and Goofy visit the world of Toy Story in the latest gameplay trailer for publisher Square Enix's upcoming action-RPG sequel, Kingdom Hearts 3.

The clip released during Disney's D23 expo, features Sora and his friends transforming into toy versions of themselves as they enter Andy's room from the Toy Story series.

After defeating a handful of the Heartless, Sora meets with Woody and Buzz who explain that their friends, including Andy, have gone missing. The group then decide to visit a toy store in search of the others.

The clip also features Kingdom Hearts' signature fast-paced gameplay as Sora is seen using a giant hammer to smash Heartless outside Andy's house and use a mech to shoot down enemies inside the toy story.

The end of the trailer announces that the long in-development title will release for the Playstation 4 and Xbox One in 2018.

First released in 2002, Kingdom Hearts is a crossover between Square Enix's Final Fantasy series and Disney that features characters from both companies. It follows the story of Sora and his companions Donald and Goofy as they combat the Heartless across multiple planets that are each themed around a classic Disney film.
