PARIS, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- Publisher Square Enix has released new screenshots for the next entry in their highly anticipated action-RPG series, Kingdom Hearts 3.

The images revealed recently during the companies Paris Games Week conference offer a look at new abilities that main protagonist Sora will be obtaining in his fight against The Heartless.

"As we don't have any news for #KHIII, Nomura-san would like to offer everyone a sneak peek at Guard Form - a new Drive Form!" Square Enix noted on Twitter in the first released image which features Sora wielding Herc's shield from Disney's Hercules.

"The Guard Form shield mentioned earlier was transformed from the Keyblade of Herc's Shield which has been shown previously," reads the description for the second screenshot as Sora begins to slam a Heartless mid-air.

Drive Forms, first introduced in Kingdom Hearts 2, are new forms for Sora that amplify his abilities and grant a new outfit themed around a certain fighting style.

First released in 2002, Kingdom Hearts is a crossover between Square Enix's Final Fantasy series and Disney that features characters from both companies. It follows the story of Sora and his companions Donald and Goofy as they combat the Heartless across multiple planets that are each themed around a classic Disney film.

Also announced during Paris Games Week, a compilation remaster of Kingdom Hearts titles, Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 Remix and Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Remix is headed to the Playstation 4.

"Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 + 2.5 ReMIX, announced for PlayStation 4, celebrates 15 magical years of #KingdomHearts with six memorable adventures!" Square Enix wrote on Twitter alongside a trailer for the title.

In addition to having revamped versions of the first two Kingdom Hearts titles, the collection will also include Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories, the cinematics of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Final Mix and Kingdom Hearts Re:coded.
