NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J., June 29 (UPI) -- Johnson & Johnson says is has issued another in a series of recalls for its Tylenol products after receiving reports of a musty, moldy odor.
The company said it is recalling 60,912 bottles of its Tylenol Extra Strength pain relief medicine manufactured in February, 2009, The Boston Globe reported Wednesday.
More than 100 million Johnson & Johnson products have been recalled in the last two years making it harder for consumers to find Tylenol, Motrin, Sudafed and Benadryl on store shelves, the newspaper said.
The company said the odor is mostly likely from trace amounts of 2,4,6-tribromoanisole, which reportedly does not cause any serious health risks but could cause temporary stomach upset in some people.
The bottles identified in the recall bear the label "Tylenol Extra Strength Caplets, 225 count" and a UPC code of 300450444271.
Consumers with the recalled product are advised to stop taking the pain reliever and to contact McNeil Consumer Healthcare at 888-222-6036 or at www.tylenol.com.
