One lot of Tylenol being recalled

FORT WASHINGTON, Pa., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- The maker of Tylenol says it is voluntarily recalling one lot of 8 Hour caplets in 50 count bottles after reports of a musty or moldy odor.

McNeil Consumer Healthcare, a Division of McNEIL-PPC Inc., believes the uncharacteristic odor is caused by the presence of trace amounts of a chemical called 2,4,6-tribromoanisole, a company release said.

The recall action is being taken as a precaution and the risk of adverse medical events is remote, the company says.

The lot number involved in the recall, BCM155, can be found on the side of the bottle label, the company says.
