NEW YORK, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Disney says it is working on a stage adaptation of its animated musical blockbuster "Frozen," Hollywood's Deadline.com reported.

"We're not demanding speed. We're demanding excellence," Disney Chief Executive Officer and Chairman Bob Iger told Fortune magazine about developing a "Frozen" musical for the theater.

Playbill.com said the studio has confirmed it is working on a theatrical version of the film, but it remains unclear whether it would be performed on Broadway or in the studio's theme parks.

The movie features eight original songs from the husband-and-wife songwriting team of Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez. The tunes are sung in the film by Broadway veterans Idina Menzel, Josh Gad and Jonathan Groff.
