NEW YORK, June 10 (UPI) -- Bunny Ranch owner Dennis Hof says he recently paid Liberace's ex-boyfriend Scott Thorson's $125,000 bail and is helping him get back on his feet in Nevada.

The Bunny Ranch is a legal brothel in Carson City.

Matt Damon played Thorson and Michael Douglas the late entertainer Liberace in the HBO original film "Behind the Candelabra," which premiered last month.

Hof, who stars on HBO's "Cathouse" reality series, said in a weekend news release he was shocked to discover Thorson, 54, had been incarcerated in a Reno jail since February because he was unable to post his bail. Thorson , who pleaded guilty to burglary and the use of personal identification of another person, is scheduled to be sentenced next month.

Hof said he put up the bail for Thorson and arranged for defense attorney David Houston to represent him. Hof said Thorson is staying at his private residence, which is adjacent to the Bunny Ranch just outside of Reno.

Thorson will be working as Hof's personal assistant while undergoing treatment for colon cancer and rehabilitation for drug addiction.
