Interview With a Vampire was the debut novel by Anne Rice, who ultimately wrote 18 interconnected novels about vampires and witches that AMC Networks purchased the rights to in June.

The book was adapted as a movie in 1994 starring Brad Pitt as Louis, Tom Cruise as Lestat and Kirsten Dunst as Claudia. AMC hasn't announced any other casting choices for the series, which is expected to be released in 2022.

Anne Rice and her son, Christopher Rice, will serve as executive producers for the series, but won't write for it. Mark Johnson is developing the Anne Rice books for AMC Networks and AMC+ streaming service. Rolin Jones will serve as creator and showrunner for the Interview adaptation.

Other books included in the AMC deal are The Vampire Lestat, The Queen of the Damned, The Tale of the Body Thief, Memnoch the Devil, The Vampire Armand, Pandora, Vittorio the Vampire, Blood and Gold, Prince Lestat and the Realms of the Atlantis Island, Blood Communion: A Tale of Prince Lestat, The Witching Hour, Lasher, Taltos, Merrick, Blackwood Farm, and Blood Canticle.

The Queen of the Damned was adapted as a movie in 2002, starring Stuart Townsend as Lestat and singer Aaliyah as Queen Akasha.

Anderson played the leader of the Unsullied, Grey Worm, in GoT, and has been cast in the upcoming season of Doctor Who.
