The 11th and final season will consist of 24 episodes. Writer Jim Barnes shared a photo on Instagram of the title page for the Season 11 premiere, titled "Acheron: Part I."

"Acheron: Part I" is written by Barnes and Angela Kang and directed by Kevin Dowling. The episode follows Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and the Alexandria group as they search for desperately-needed food.

"Once on the road, a violent storm erupts forcing them underground into a subway tunnel. As nerves fray and suspicions increase, chaos ensues. The terror is relentless as our people get a glimpse of what Maggie and her group endured prior to returning to Alexandria," an official description reads.

The premiere will be followed by "Acheron: Part II," also written by Barnes and Kang and directed by Dowling. In the episode, the group discovers a member did not make it to safety inside the subway car, which is attacked by walkers.

"Meanwhile, Daryl (Norman Reedus) is in his own intense hellish situation trying to find Dog and finding more than he expected; and Yumiko (Eleanor Matsuura) challenges the process at the Commonwealth outpost, which threatens her future and that of Eugene (Josh McDermitt), Ezekiel (Khary Payton) and Princess (Paola Lázaro)."

The episodes will be followed by "Hunted," "Rendition," "Out of the Ashes," "On the Inside," "Promises Broken" and "For Blood."

AMC will release new material, including photos and trailers, for Season 11 every Thursday until the season premiere Aug. 22.
