Dec. 28 (UPI) -- Netflix has confirmed that its new Black Mirror standalone film, Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, is an interactive experience where viewers will shape what is happening on-screen.

The streaming service highlighted the choose-your-own-adventure-style of Bandersnatch on Twitter Friday alongside a new teaser for the special.

Viewers, while watching Bandersnatch, will be presented throughout the film with yes or no choices which will change the course of the plot. Viewers make the choice by using a remote control, a mouse if Netflix is being accessed on a computer, or a video game controller if its being accessed on a video game console.

An instructional video on how to make the yes or no choices will play before Bandersnatch starts. Viewers who stop the special and decide to start over from the beginning will have all their previous choices erased.

Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, released on Friday, takes place in the 1980s and follows video game developer Stefan (Fionn Whitehead) who comes up with an idea to develop a game based on an adventure novel titled Bandersnatch. As Stefan starts to work on the game, he begins to lose touch with reality and has vivid dreams.
