Bobby Cannavale joins Amazon's 'Homecoming'

Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Bobby Cannavale will star opposite Julia Roberts in Amazon's new series, Homecoming.

Homecoming is a half-hour psychological and political thriller from Mr. Robot creator, Sam Esmail and based on a fictional podcast. The story is about secret government facility workers who are desperate to rejoin civilian life and Cannavale will play Colin Belfast, the off-site supervisor of the Homecoming Initiative, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Cannavale will be reunited with Esmail, who he worked with on Mr. Robot in a recurring role.

Homecoming has been in development since December 2016 and Amazon ordered two seasons in July.

Meanwhile. Cannavale has been one of TV's busiest actors of late. In addition to Mr. Robot, the two-time Emmy winner has most recently appeared in Vinyl, Master of None and Third Watch.

His Emmy wins include Outstanding Guest Actor in a comedy series in 2005 for Will & Grace and Outstanding Actor in a Supporting Role in a drama series in 2013 for Boardwalk Empire.
