'Marlon' is getting a second season at NBC

Sept. 29 (UPI) -- NBC says its has renewed its family sitcom Marlon for a second season.

"We heard y'all wanted #Marlon Season 2. So that's what we're gonna do!" the show's Twitter account said Thursday. The post also featured a GIF of series star Marlon Wayans celebrating.

Loosely inspired by Wayans' real life, the comedy co-stars Essence Atkins, Notlim Taylor, Amir O'Neil, Bresha Webb and Diallo Riddle. It follows "a loving -- but immature -- father committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife," a synopsis said.

Wayans is best known for his work on the sketch comedy series In Living Color and in the Scary Movie franchise.
