Rick and Maggie declare, 'The world is ours,' in Season 8 'Walking Dead' teaser

Sept. 28 (UPI) -- AMC has released a 40-second teaser for Season 8 of The Walking Dead.

"The world is ours. By right. We've come together for it. All of us!" Andrew Lincoln's Rick Grimes can be heard saying, as the camera pans to other characters, who appear to be waiting to either attack their foes, or defend themselves and their homes from invaders.

"We need to keep our faith in each other," Lauren Cohan's Maggie added, as footage of her fellow apocalypse survivors engage in combat.

"If we can hold on to that with everything we have, the future is ours. The world is ours!"

Season 8 begins on Oct. 22.
