'Supergirl': Bollywood star Amy Jackson to play Saturn Girl

The CW series will return for a third season in October.

Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Bollywood star Amy Jackson has joined the cast of Supergirl.

The 25-year-old British-born actress will recur as Saturn Girl in Season 3 of The CW series starring Melissa Benoist.

"@iamAmyJackson joins Supergirl as Saturn Girl! The new season returns October 9 on The CW," the Supergirl official Twitter page announced Monday.

Jackson reacted to the news on her own page and confirmed she's been filming the new season in Vancouver, B.C.

"FINALLY! So now you know what I've been getting up to in Canada over the past couple of weeks #SuperGirl new recruit #SaturnGirl," she tweeted.

In the DC comics, Irma Ardeen, aka Saturn Girl, is a talented telepath who hails from Titan, the largest moon of the planet Saturn. The character will help Supergirl (Benoist) "battle one of her biggest threats" in the show, according to Deadline.

Supergirl co-stars Mehcad Brooks as James Olsen, aka Guardian, Chyler Leigh as Alex Danvers, Jeremy Jordan as Winn Schott and David Harewood as J'onn J'onzz, aka Martian Manhunter. The series returns Oct. 9.
