Aug. 8 (UPI) -- The seemingly never ending rivalry between Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman continued Monday on Raw in a violent Last Man Standing Match.

The main event of the night, The Big Dog and The Monster Among Men went the distance against each other just two weeks before they meet Samoa Joe and Universal Champion Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam in a Fatal 4-Way Match.

Critical moments from the bout included Reigns beating down his opponent using steel steps, dropping Strowman through a table with a Samoan Drop and Strowman driving Reigns back first into the LED board at the top of the stage.

Victory seemed within Reigns' grasp when he delivered a thunderous, running Spear to Strowman down the ramp until Joe emerged from the audience to lock Reigns into his patent submission maneuver, the Coquina Clutch. The chokehold put Reigns to sleep which allowed Strowman to claim victory as he got to his feet while the referee counted to ten.

"The yard is on lockdown!" Joe screamed to Reigns from the entrance ramp.

Also on Raw, Lesnar, along with his advocate Paul Heyman, kicked off the show by appearing on a segment of Miz TV hosted by Intercontinental Champion The Miz.

The Miz started his talk show on the wrong foot when he interrupted Heyman during his signature introduction of Lesnar.

The A-lister, who was hiding behind his Miztourage consisting of Curtis Axel and Bo Dallas, then continued to berate the Universal Champion about how he will lose his title at SummerSlam due to having the odds stacked against him.

Heyman then announced that Lesnar would be giving the audience a preview of SummerSlam as The Beast promptly sent The Miz and his crew to Suplex City before delivering a trio of F-5s to end the interview.

Other moments from Raw included Raw Tag Team Champion Sheamus defeating Seth Rollins who was not helped by Dean Ambrose after Cesaro joined in to attack The Architect; Ambrose then defeating Cesaro later in the night with Rollins still coming to his former Shield partners aid during a second attack; Jason Jordan defeating local competitor Jean-Pierre Goulet; Sasha Banks defeating Emma and Alicia Fox in a Triple Threat qualifying match for a shot at the Raw Women's Championship followed by Nia Jax defeating Mickie James and Dana Brooke in a second qualifying match; Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson defeating Enzo Amore and Big Show; Bray Wyatt attacking Finn Balor; and Akira Tozawa defeating Ariya Daivari.
