'Archer' moving to FXX starting with Season 8

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 5 (UPI) -- FX's hit animated spy comedy Archer, is set to begin airing on sister station FXX starting with Season 8.

"Archer is an awesome addition to the growing slate of original comedies on FXX, where it will join It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Man Seeking Woman, and You're the Worst," said president of program strategy and COO of FX Networks Chuck Saftler in a statement.

"Adam Reed, Matt Thompson, and Floyd County continue to make one of the funniest shows on television and it's great to see them earn the awards and acclaim that comes with one of the most loyal and avid fan bases in the industry," he continued.

Archer was expected to move onto FXX starting with Season 7 however, plans were scrapped and the series remained on FX. Season 8 is scheduled to premiere in the spring.

In June, Archer was renewed for three more eight-episode seasons that creator Reed has stated will wrap up the series with Season 10.

Archer starring H. Jon Benjamin (Archer), Aisha Tyler (Lana Anthony Kane) and Jessica Walter (Malory Archer) about a highly skilled yet self-centered spy debuted on FX in 2010.
