Disney's 'DuckTales' revival lands David Tennant, Bobby Moynihan, Ben Schwartz and more

LOS ANGELES, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Disney has assembled an all-star television cast for their upcoming DuckTales revival including David Tennant, Bobby Moynihan, Danny Pudi and Ben Schwartz.

The casting was announced Friday through a new promotional video featuring the cast performing the show's signature theme song.

The clip reveals that Tennant will be taking on the role of wealthy Scrooge McDuck while his nephew sidekicks Huey, Dewey and Louie will be voiced by Pudi, Schwartz and Moynihan respectively.

Other cast members featured include Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack, Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley and Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack.

Based on the original cartoon of the same name, which aired from 1987-1990, DuckTales follows the adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his nephews as they hunt for treasures around the world and fight off enemies after Scrooge's vast fortune.

Other characters such as Donald Duck, Flintheart Glomgold, Gyro Gearloose, Duckworth, Gizmoduck, Magica DeSpell, Gladstone Gander, and Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys are also set to appear in the reboot according to E! News.

Recently, it was confirmed that DuckTales would be premiering in 2017 on Disney XD.
