Amy Manson, Patrick Gibson and Andrew Whipp join cast of Starz's 'The White Princess'

BEVERLY HILLS , Calif., Sept. 1 (UPI) -- Amy Manson, Patrick Gibson and Andrew Whipp have joined the ensemble cast of Starz's upcoming costume drama The White Princess, set in the 15th century.

The cable television network also said Alex Kalymnios has signed on to direct several episodes of The White Princess, a follow-up to the miniseries The White Queen.

Previously announced cast members include newcomer Jacob Collins-Levy as Britain's King Henry VII; Jodie Comer as Princess Elizabeth; Essie Davis as Princess Elizabeth's mother Elizabeth Woodville; Joanne Whalley as the Duchess of Burgundy, Elizabeth of York's aunt; Michelle Fairley as Margaret Beaufort, Henry VII's mother; and Suki Waterhouse as Cecily of York, the younger sister of Princess Elizabeth.

Manson will play Lady Catherine Gordon; Gibson will play her love interest The Boy and Whipp will play Richard Pole, supporter and former soldier of Henry VII.

Emma Frost is the showrunner.

The White Princess is an adaptation of Philippa Gregory's 2013 historical novel of the same name.
