"Guys. This is so many dreamy dreams in one," the House of Cards alum tweeted in response to her casting.

The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel takes place in 1950s New York. The series follows a young, Jewish mom-of-two (Brosnahan) who pursues a career in stand-up comedy after her husband leaves her for another woman.

Sherman-Palladino wrote the pilot and will executive produce with husband Dan Palladino. The writer and producer is best known for creating Gilmore Girls, which will return as a four-part revival on Netflix in November.

Broshanan is known for playing Rachel Posner on Netflix's House of Cards and Abby Isaacs on WGN America's Manhattan. She will also star in Woody Allen's new Amazon series.
