LOS ANGELES, April 29 (UPI) -- Mischa Barton and Artem Chigvintsev are not dating, contrary to reports. Chigvintsev's rep denied the 30-year-old actress and 33-year-old professional dancer are romantically involved after the pair were spotted at dinner Wednesday. Barton and Chigvintsev were partnered on Dancing with the Stars Season 22.

"All of these reports are false. Mischa and Artem are not dating. The experience of Dancing with the Stars has a tendency to really bond partners and pros. They have remained friends since the show," the rep said in a statement to E! News.
Entertainment Tonight had reported Barton and Chigvintsev enjoyed a meal at The Little Door restaurant in Los Angeles and visited the Chateau Marmont afterward. Sources told the website the outing was the pair's "first proper date."
"They've been in touch after the show and care about each other," a source said. "[They are] transitioning into more than friends. He is the reason she's looking happier recently. She has become giddy when talking about him and quite smitten with him."
Barton and Chigvintsev were eliminated in week two of competition on Dancing with the Stars. The actress, who was pushed to tears during her first performance, later admitted it was an "intense" few weeks on the ABC series.
"Well, I definitely did it," she told E! News of the experience. "I came straight out of a film, came into this, thought I was going to get this dance training. It's been a fun experience. I've learned a lot from Artem."
Barton is best known for playing Marissa Cooper on The O.C. and will next star in the movie Deserted with Jackson Davis. Chigvintsev joined Dancing in Season 19 and was previously partnered with Lea Thompson and Patti LaBelle.
