LOS ANGELES, April 6 (UPI) -- TBS says it has ordered a 13-episode, second season of The Detour, which was created, written and executive-produced by Jason Jones and his wife Samantha Bee.

The announcement was made ahead of the Monday premiere of the show the cable network describes "as an often too honest look at the family dynamic and the chaos that can erupt from not being honest with the ones we love." It stars Jones, Natalie Zea, Ashley Gerasimovich and Liam Carroll.

"I'm very excited to be going back to making my favorite show not yet on TV and look forward to making outrageous demands in my rider for the second season," Jones said in a statement.

"Jason and Sam's vision and execution of the first season was original and unexpected at every ridiculous turn," added Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS. "Having Jason as executive producer, director and star really brought a definition to the voice of the characters and a realism to this family."
