'Fuller House' renewed for Season 2

LOS ANGELES, March 2 (UPI) -- Fuller House will return for a second season.

The Netflix sitcom announced the news with a promo featuring Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber on Wednesday, writing, "Your list will get even fuller. Season 2. Coming soon to @Netflix."

Word of Fuller House's renewal comes just days after the series released a first season. The sitcom is a sequel to Full House and follows an adult D.J. Tanner (Bure) as she raises her three sons with sister Stephanie (Sweetin) and best friend Kimmy's (Barber) help.

"Whoo hoo!!!! Thank you for ALL the love and support!! Season 2 wouldn't be happening without the fans!!" Sweetin wrote on Instagram. The actress announced she will compete on Dancing with the Stars Season 22 earlier in the day.

Full House had a nine-season run on ABC from 1987 to 1995. Bob Saget, John Stamos, Lori Loughlin and Dave Coulier are among the other original stars who reprised their roles for Fuller House, which premiered Feb. 26.

"Thanks to all of the fans, #FullerHouse is coming back for Season 2. We are all very grateful. Thank you!!" Stamos tweeted.

Full House creator Jeff Franklin recently told Variety that Fuller House nearly didn't happen. The producer revealed he had to push the series for seven years, saying, "I knew that this kind of excitement was going to be there, but nobody else seemed to get it."
