Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta win Season 27 of 'The Amazing Race'

NEW YORK, Dec. 12 (UPI) -- Kelsey Gerckens and Joey Buttitta were deemed the Season 27 winners of The Amazing Race on Friday's finale of the CBS competition series.

The dating news reporters beat out fellow finalists Justin Scheman and Diana Bishop -- who came in second place -- for the $1 million prize. Logan Fazio and Chris Gordon made up the third-place team.

"We kind of feel like the last three legs we ran pretty perfectly, but Justin and Diana just happened to be in front of us for those other ones," Buttitta told Entertainment Weekly.

"I think us running close to perfect, plus the little mistakes of the other teams, is what sold it for us."
