LOS ANGELES, Oct. 15 (UPI) -- An Adam Levine hidden camera reality show is in the works at NBC.

The network ordered The Untitled Adam Levine Show to pilot this week, with the 36-year-old Maroon 5 singer to serve as executive producer.

The series is inspired by the band's "Sugar" music video, which saw the group make surprise performances at fans' weddings. Levine will partner with the video's director, David Dobkin, and Naked and Afraid production company Renegade 83 on the project.

Episodes will follow celebrities as they make unexpected appearances at fans' major life events, including a world famous recording artist leading the house band at a couple's wedding and an Emmy-winning actor showing up at a bachelorette party.

Levine and Maroon 5 last released V in September 2014, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and includes the singles "Maps" and "Animals." The singer serves as a judge on NBC reality competition The Voice, which airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET.
