Harry Connick Jr. to host daytime entertainment show 'Harry' in 2016

NEW YORK, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Musician, actor and television personality Harry Connick, Jr. is getting his own nationally syndicated, daytime entertainment show.

NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution announced Tuesday it has sold Harry to the FOX Television Stations, with the new program set to premiere next September.

"I'm a lucky guy. I get to be a husband to a wonderful wife, a father to three incredible daughters, and an entertainer to the most amazing fans. And now, I'm honored to be able to put smiles on people's faces on a daily basis," Connick, Jr. said in a statement. "Working with the amazingly talented and hysterical Stangel Brothers is a dream come true. Harry will be an hour filled with fun, music and laughter. Fasten your seat belts -- it's gonna be one heck of a good time."

Connick, Jr., 48, has acted in the films Dolphin Tale, Hope Floats, Copycat, Independence Day and Memphis Belle, as well as the TV sitcom Will & Grace. He also served as a judge on American Idol.
