'Fear the Walking Dead' gets a premiere date and trailer

SAN DIEGO, July 11 (UPI) -- Fear the Walking Dead is to premiere Aug. 23, AMC has announced.

A 3-minute trailer shown at San Diego Comic-Con Friday and posted on YouTube offers a glimpse of Los Angeles in the early days of a zombie apocalypse.

"When civilization ends, it ends fast," says a haunting voice in the clip.

The new West Coast companion series to the Southern-set The Walking Dead will star Cliff Curtis, Kim Dickens and Alycia Debnam Carey.
