Sarah Paulson to return for 'American Horror Story: Hotel'

The FX horror anthology series will premiere a fifth season in October.

LOS ANGELES, April 14 (UPI) -- Sarah Paulson is confirmed for American Horror Story: Hotel.

Series creator Ryan Murphy announced the 40-year-old actress will return for a fifth season of the FX program Monday on Twitter, writing, "Sarah Paulson is checking into 'Hotel.' And this season, she's the baddest bad girl of them all."

Paulson portrayed Billie on season one, Murder House, and went on to play Lana on Asylum, Cordelia on Coven and Bette and Dot on Freak Show. The actress is also scheduled for Murphy's new project, American Crime Story: The People vs. O. J. Simpson.

Coven and Freak Show actress Kathy Bates will also return for Hotel, in addition to Freak Show guest stars Wes Bentley and Matt Bomer. Lady Gaga and Cheyenne Jackson will debut on the new season, but series regular Jessica Lange has departed the show.
