LOS ANGELES, July 24 (UPI) -- Jessica Biel will return to television on New Girl. The 32-year-old actress will guest star on the season four premiere of the Fox comedy series. Biel will portray Kat, "the hottest scientist in the world," who competes with Jess (Zooey Deschanel) for a cute guy.

The episode takes place at a wedding that loftmates Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield), Winston (Lamorne Morris) and Coach (Damon Wayans Jr.) also attend. Wayans Jr. has been promoted to a series regular this season.
Biel is no stranger to television, having starred on the first seven seasons of 7th Heaven. She moved to film after she left the program, and has appeared in The A-Team, Total Recall and Hitchcock in recent years. She will next appear in Nailed and Shiva and May later this year.
New Girl season four premieres September 16 on Fox.
