LOS ANGELES, July 2 (UPI) -- Bobbi Kristina is not happy with Angela Bassett.

The 21-year-old daughter of the late singer Whitney Houston slammed Bassett on social media after the actress cast failed to cast her as Houston in an upcoming Lifetime biopic. Yaya DaCosta (The Butler) was cast instead, a choice Bassett explained in an interview with Entertainment Weekly last week.

"I did not think about casting [Bobbi]," she shared. "One [reason] being that she's not an actress. I know she's acted here and there. I know she's been on their family's reality show, but she's not an actress and acting is a craft. It's an attempt to illuminate the complexities of human behavior and life ... It's more than just saying lines and turning the light on."

Bobbi responded to the perceived criticism by insulting Basset on Twitter, "Ha MsAng 'bassketcase' has such a damn nerve my lord, at least the world doesn't mistake me for the wrong sex...she has some #XtraEquipment." She later posted, "When I win my first Grammy or Oscar, *Shrugs* hmm whichever comes 1st, I'll be sure 2shout URname out [expletive]! Ha UrTestResults = Male. Lmao."

The aspiring actress apologized on Tuesday, saying, "I'm a young woman that can admit her wrongs. 4who was offended I apologize BUT understand me before you're quick to judge though. ThankU."

Bassett portrayed Tina Turner in the 1993 biopic What's Love Got to Do with It, and will return for the fourth season of American Horror Story this fall. The upcoming Whitney Houston movie will mark the actress' directorial debut.
