Bob Barker to celebrate 90th birthday on 'Price is Right'

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- U.S. television icon Bob Barker is to celebrate his 90th birthday with a special appearance on his former game show "The Price is Right," CBS said.

The show will pay homage to Barker throughout the week of Dec. 9-13.

"Each day, the show will feature pet adoptions, a cause dear to Barker's heart, leading up to his big day, Thursday, Dec. 12, when he'll surprise the studio audience with a rare appearance and present a special showcase," CBS said in a news release.

Drew Carey has been the show's host since Barker retired in 2007. Barker started out on the show in 1972.
