Britton says Chandler doesn't want to make 'Friday Night Lights' movie

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Connie Britton says her former co-star Kyle Chandler isn't as eager as she is to make a "Friday Night Lights" movie to follow their U.S. football drama series.

Britton made the comment on Monday's edition of "Watch What Happens: Live," Zap2it.com reported.

"You know, there's been a lot of talk about a lot of things. And some people are really excited about it, and other people aren't," Britton said of bringing the next installment of the story back to the big screen.

"I love the idea. I think it would be a great idea. But my former ... husband ... Coach Eric Taylor ..."

"He thinks you did it already?" host Andy Cohen asked.

"Well, and he has a point," Britton said. "What do you think?"

Cohen said he would be in the theater on opening night should a "Friday Night Lights" movie get the go-ahead.

"And we would only do it if it was gonna be a great movie," Britton said. "That's the thing."

"Friday Night Lights: A Town, a Team, and a Dream," a 1990 non-fiction book by H.G. Bissinger, was adapted as the film "Friday Night Lights" in 2004. The TV series, which was also based on the book and film, ran from 2006-11.
