Simon Cowell vacationing during pregnant gal pal's divorce drama

LOS ANGELES, Aug. 12 (UPI) -- Simon Cowell was spotted boarding a yacht in France while his pregnant girlfriend is in the midst of divorcing her husband, People.com said.

Cowell, 53, is expecting a child with New York socialite Lauren Silverman, 36.

Andrew Silverman, a one-time friend of Cowell's, is fighting for primary custody of the 7-year-old son he has with Lauren, saying he was shocked to learn she was unfaithful to him and alleging she's a bad parent who spends too much time away from the child so she can hang out with celebrities, TMZ reported previously this month.

A source told People.com Monday Cowell, 53, is "happy to be on vacation" while the divorce proceedings are under way.

"It's obvious that the drama between Lauren and Andrew that involved Simon, makes him a bit upset," the insider said, adding Cowell "has been in contact" with Silverman since her divorce turned messy but "won't see Lauren in person until things calm down."

"He cares about her and has been checking in on her and the baby. He still encourages Lauren to quickly figure things out with Andrew so they can move forward with their divorce," the source said.
