MALIBU, Calif., July 30 (UPI) -- Lindsay Lohan plans to spend a few days in a sober living house after she completes her 90-day stint in a California rehab Wednesday, TMZ reported.

Lohan, 27, was under court order to undergo in-patient treatment for substance abuse as part of her conviction for reckless driving and lying to police.

She checked into the Betty Ford Center May 3 but reportedly was unhappy with her treatment and requested a transfer to another facility, Cliffside Malibu.

The "Mean Girls" and "Freaky Friday" star's once-bright career has been eclipsed in recent years by her battles with drug and alcohol addiction, motor vehicle offenses and other legal woes.

The Oprah Winfrey Network is paying the troubled actress about $2 million to star in an eight-part docu-series about her efforts to remain sober and revive her flagging career.

Although she is officially free to leave Cliffside Wednesday, she has decided to stay in a lower-security, sober living house for three or four days to help her transition back to normal life, TMZ reported Monday.

The celebrity news website quoted unnamed sources as saying Lohan appears serious about staying clean and sober this time after several unsuccessful attempts at kicking her addictions to drugs and alcohol.

"It's like invasion of the body snatchers. She's a different person," one insider told TMZ.
