Nathan Lane lands 'Good Wife' role

LOS ANGELES, June 28 (UPI) -- Emmy- and Tony award-winning actor Nathan Lane is to appear in a recurring role in Season 4 of the U.S. legal drama "The Good Wife," CBS announced.

The star of "The Birdcage" and "The Producers" will make his debut in September's season premiere. He will portray a "bottom line-obsessed manager imposed on Lockhart & Gardner by the bank to cut costs and get the firm back to fiscal health," a synopsis said. "He finds himself at odds with Will, Diane and everyone else at the firm."

CBS recently announced Maura Tierney, Marc Warren and Kristin Chenoweth are also joining the cast next season.

Julianna Margulies has won numerous awards for her work on "The Good Wife." The show's ensemble also includes Josh Charles, Archie Panjabi and Christine Baranski.
