NEW YORK, Dec. 13 (UPI) -- The Broadway revival of "Private Lives" is to finish its run more than a month earlier than planned, producers of the Noel Coward comedy said Tuesday.

The limited engagement had initially been scheduled to play through Feb. 5.

Starring Kim Cattrall, Paul Gross, Simon Paisley Day, Anna Madeley and Caroline Lena Olsson, the show will close Dec. 31 at Broadway's Music Box Theatre after 12 previews and 53 regular performances.

Directed by Richard Eyre, the production previously played London and Toronto.

"Despite fantastic reviews, ticket sales have been slower than we had hoped for and it would be irresponsible to continue running into the notoriously difficult January period," producer Paul Elliott said in a statement Tuesday.
