LOS ANGELES, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Kris Humphries says he was swindled in an alleged investment scam by a guest at his televised wedding to U.S. reality television icon Kim Kardashian.

Andrey Hicks was arrested in Canada Friday on wire fraud charges just a couple of months after he had partaken in the wedding festivities.

U.S. authorities believe Hicks, 27, pocketed $1.7 million in investments in a phony hedge fund and was trying to slip across the Atlantic into Switzerland when he was nabbed by the Canadians.

Humphries told TMZ.com he sunk hundreds of thousands of his hard-earned NBA money into Hicks' supposed billion-dollar fund.

TMZ said investigators from the Securities and Exchange Commission in Massachusetts alleged Hicks also floated a phony story of being a Harvard man when he actually flunked out of the prestigious school after three semesters.
