WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- U.S. President Barack Obama is to be interviewed for a BET Networks news special about how the economic crisis is affecting African-Americans. "The President Answers Black America" is to air Monday.
The cable network said this will be the president's first television interview on the economic crisis with BET Networks. The sit-down is to be conducted at the White House by Emmy-Award winning journalist and former KTLA anchor Emmett Miller.
"We are thrilled to be the platform where the president will exclusively address our community," Loretha Jones, president of original programming at BET Networks, said in a statement Friday. "This conversation is particularly important given the impact the economic environment is having on African-Americans."
