LOS ANGELES, Sept. 22 (UPI) -- U.S. comedian Roseanne Barr has announced via Twitter there will be no second season of her Lifetime reality series "Roseanne's Nuts."

The show followed Barr, her partner Johnny Argent and son Jake Pentland as they lived and worked on their macadamia nut farm in Hawaii. The series debuted in July and ran for 16 episodes.

The Hollywood Reporter said it was not renewed for a second season because of low ratings.

"Roseanne's Nuts has been canceled," Barr said online Wednesday. "Thanks everyone for watching!"

The cable network did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the cancellation, The Hollywood Reporter said.
