Miami 'Housewife' son hurt in auto crash

MIAMI, Aug. 21 (UPI) -- The 13-year-old son of Alexia Echevarria, one of Bravo's "Real Housewives of Miami," was seriously injured in a traffic accident, her husband said.

Herman Echevarria said on his Facebook page Sunday that their son, Frankie, was in intensive care following emergency surgery last week.

The message said Frankie was in stable condition; however, a source told The Miami Herald the boy's injuries were "pretty bad."

Alexia, who will return with the Miami cast for a second season, reportedly was camped out at her son's bedside.

Details of crash were scarce, but it appeared Frankie was riding in a vehicle that crashed Thursday during a rainstorm, the Herald said

The crash in Florida occurred less than a week after Russell Armstrong, husband of Beverly Hills housewife Taylor Armstrong, committed suicide.
