'Bachelor' couple Emily and Brad break up

LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- U.S. reality television couple Emily Maynard and Brad Womack say they have called off their engagement.

Maynard accepted Womack's proposal of marriage on the season finale of "The Bachelor" dating competition series last March.

"We're no longer engaged," People.com quoted Maynard as saying in a segment to air during the July 11 episode of "The Bachelorette." "Just because we love each other doesn't mean we're right for each other."

Womack, who declined to be interviewed with Maynard for the show, told People.com "the demise of our relationship was completely my fault."

He did not elaborate on the reasons, however.
