"We are all honored and excited that Emmy Award-winning Terry O'Quinn, has joined our 'Hawaii Five-0' 'ohana' [Hawaiian for family,]" Executive Producer Peter Lenkov said in a statement Tuesday. "O'Quinn's character, who we will meet in the premiere, is going to be a major contributor to our team … because he taught McGarrett everything he knows."

"We're lucky to have Terry on 'Hawaii Five-0,'" said Kim. "He's a great actor who brings a sense of ease and professionalism to every project he works on, and I'm excited to work with him again."

O'Quinn won an Emmy Award for his portrayal of John Locke in "Lost" in 2007. Kim played Jin on the supernatural series, which wrapped last spring after six seasons.
