'Bold' wins big at Daytime Emmys

LAS VEGAS, June 19 (UPI) -- "The Bold and the Beautiful" won its third consecutive Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series at a ceremony at the Las Vegas Hilton Sunday night.

The soap opera also earned the award for Outstanding Directing Team.

The Supporting Actress prize went to "Bold" cast member Heather Tom, whose co-star Scott Clifton grabbed the Outstanding Younger Actor trophy.

Jonathan Jackson picked up the Supporting Actor honor for his work on "General Hospital."

"GH" star Laura Wright went home with the Lead Actress gong and "As the World Turns" player Michael Park won the Lead Actor Award.

The Outstanding Younger Actress Emmy went to "All My Children" cast member Brittany Allen, while the award for Outstanding Drama Series Writing Team was presented to the scribes for "The Young & the Restless."

"Jeopardy!" and "Wheel of Fortune" shared the title of Outstanding Game Show. The hosts of the two shows -- Alex Trebek and Pat Sajak -- were also honored during the awards show with lifetime achievement awards.

Ben Bailey of "Cash Cab" was named Outstanding Game Show Host.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" was named Best Talk Show (Entertainment) and "The Dr. Oz Show" won the Emmy for Best Talk Show (Informative).

Dr. Mehmet Oz from "The Dr. Oz Show" and Kelly Ripa and Regis Philbin from "Live! with Regis and Kelly" tied in the Outstanding Talk Show Host category.

Wayne Brady served as host of the prize presentation, which recognized outstanding achievement in all fields of daytime television production.
