Sheen lawsuits headed to arbitration

LOS ANGELES, June 16 (UPI) -- A Los Angeles Superior Court judge says a lawsuit between actor Charlie Sheen and Warner Bros. will be settled by arbitration, not a trial.

Sheen is suing his former employer for $100 million, claiming the studio wrongfully fired him from the sitcom "Two and a Half Men."

Warner Bros. and show co-creator Chuck Lorre, whom Sheen is also suing, said they gave Sheen the boot because of his drug use and erratic behavior.

Deadline.com reported Wednesday Judge Alan Goodman denied requests made by Sheen's attorney for public trials in both lawsuits.

The suits will now be handled by an arbitrator in private.
