Smirnoff ticking off wedding checklist

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 13 (UPI) -- Dancer Karina Smirnoff says wedding plans are proceeding smoothly for her impending marriage to Detroit Tigers pitcher Brad Penny.

Smirnoff, part of the cast of "Dancing with the Stars," told People magazine in Los Angeles she had her makeup artist nailed down and would be in Atlanta in two weeks to finalize the gown.

"We're still finalizing where we want to get married, but all the other projects are falling into place," Smirnoff said.

Smirnoff, 33, broke off one wedding, splitting with fiance Maksim Chmermovskiy in 2009. But People said Sunday she was raring to go this time.

"This engagement is different," she said. "There's nothing I would change about it at this point -- absolutely nothing."
