LOS ANGELES, Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Demi Lovato's publicist says the U.S. singer-actress has left the Jonas Brothers concert tour and is seeking treatment for "emotional and physical issues."

She has been touring with the Jonas Brothers in recent months but her publicist told People.com she quit during the weekend and checked into a treatment center for "emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time."

The name of the facility and the nature of Lovato's "issues" were not disclosed.

"Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help," the representative told People.com. "She is doing just that. Demi and her family ask that the media please respect their privacy during this difficult time. She regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."
