LOS ANGELES, July 14 (UPI) -- U.S. actress Betty White has signed on to guest star in the Season 2 premiere of the sitcom "Community," NBC announced Wednesday.

The six-time Emmy Award-winner and cultural icon is to play Professor June Bauer, "an esteemed, but slightly unhinged anthropology professor," the network said in a news release.
