Garofalo may join cast of 'Minds' spinoff

LOS ANGELES, June 29 (UPI) -- Janeane Garofalo's publicist has confirmed the U.S. comic and actress is in talks for a role in CBS's upcoming "Criminal Minds" spinoff.

TVGuide.com reported the development Tuesday.

Starring Oscar winner Forest Whitaker, "Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior" is about an FBI behavioral analysis unit.

It is to debut mid-season, the Web site said.

Garofalo is a popular standup comedian. Her film credits include "Reality Bites," "The Matchmaker," "Wet Hot American Summer," "Cop Land," "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion," "Dogma" and "Ratatouille." She has also appeared on TV's "Saturday Night Live," "The West Wing" and "24."
